Samuel Briones

Samuel Briones was a PhD candidate in the CAPABLE project and successfully defended his PhD thesis in March 2026. Samuel holds a BSc in Social Anthropology from the University of Chile and an MSc in Population Studies from the University of Groningen. His past research work has focused on intergenerational care and the social construction of old age from a qualitative perspective. In the CAPABLE project, Samuel  focused on how social policies shape the lives of the growing number of Europeans who combine paid employment with unpaid care for family or friends.
